Senator Thomas H. Kean, Jr.                

            Senator Thomas H. Kean, Jr, who represents District 21, was elected to a third Senate term in November 2007, and was elected Senate Minority Leader by his peers for the 2008-2009 Legislative Session.  Senator Kean is a member of the Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee and a member of the Senate Education Committee.  He is also the senate appointee to the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the New Jersey Amistad Commission, the New Jersey Israel Commission, the Legislative Services Commission and the Casino Revenue Fund Advisory Commission.

Prior to being named to the Senate in January 2003 to fill a vacancy, Kean was serving his second term in the State Assembly.

Senator Kean graduated from Dartmouth College in 1990.  He is currently completing his doctoral dissertation in international relations at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, where he also received his M.A.L.D.

Senator Kean lives in Westfield with his wife, Rhonda, and their two daughters.
